Meet your teachers:
Carolin & Iacopo

Carolin discovered her passion for dance early in life, but it was in 2017 that she truly found her rhythm through swing dancing. Her journey naturally led her to Balboa and Slow Balboa, where her graceful lines and elegant movement found their perfect expression. In both her dancing and teaching, Carolin values emotional presence, relaxed connection, and a balanced partnership. Iacopo first stepped onto the social dance floor in 2017, since then, he’s been dedicating himself to the elegant intricacies of Balboa and Slow Balboa, balancing his passion with a career in mathematics (yes, really!). Since forming their partnership, Carolin and Iacopo have travelled, competed and taught across Europe, bringing their passion for Balboa and Slow Balboa to every dance floor. Their most recent award is winning the Strictly at Slow Ballove 2025. Their dancing is vibrant, elegant, and full of energy and flow – blending original vocabulary with timeless classic moves.

Izzy & Louis

Izzy and Louis are well known as international balboa competitors and their teaching is always engaging and exciting. Their love of balboa is just infectious. Izzy has been dancing since she was 3, having done jazz, tap and ballet before stumbling across Lindy Hop at a jazz concert. Learning swing dancing in Australia, she moved to London with a passion for Balboa, Shag and Lindy. Louis also came to Balboa through Lindy Hop. After spending 5 years learning and travelling to dance Lindy Hop, Balboa caught Louis’ attention and quickly turned into a passion for this magical dance!

Level descriptions:
Level 1 – Find Your Feet

Suitable for dancers who are new to Balboa, as well as those who have taken a few classes before and would like to revisit the fundamentals. This track is ideal if you already dance other styles and are curious about exploring Balboa, or if you’re looking to build a stronger foundation and improve your confidence. We’ll start from the ground up, covering the core concepts and techniques of the dance. By the end of the weekend you’ll have the skills and confidence to get out on the social dance floor.

Level 2 – Find Your Flow

Suitable for dancers who are already dancing Balboa regularly and are comfortable with the fundamentals. You should feel confident dancing out-and-ins, come arounds, throwouts, lollies and swivels in social dance settings. This track will focus on developing your technique, musicality, connection and vocabulary, helping you move beyond the fundamentals and become a more confident and versatile Balboa dancer.

If you are unsure which level is for you, please get in touch at hello@swingexe.co.uk
