At Swing Exe, we want everyone to be able to access our dance classes, no matter your financial situation.
We do not want money to be a barrier for dancers to pursue their passion to learn more about swing dance and the culture it comes from.
If money is a barrier to attending our classes or workshops, please email hello@swingexe.co.uk and let us know what class or workshop you’re interested in attending. Under our Access to Dance policy, you may be eligible for a free or discounted pass.
The passes will be given in good faith and we will not ask you to explain your reasoning behind needing the assistance. All requests will be kept confidential and will be dealt with discreetly when you arrive at class.
Passes are limited and first-come, first-served.
Exemptions from block class structure
At Swing Exe, our Monday and Wednesday night classes follow a block structure, where dancers are expected to book onto a block of 4 consecutive classes, which allows for progressive learning.
We understand that this format may be inaccessible for dancers with certain circumstances.
If you fit any of the criteria below, please email hello@swingexe.co.uk to let us know your situation, and you may be eligible to attend any single class as a one off, rather than paying upfront for a full block.
- You have caring responsibilities
- You are a shift worker
- You are visiting Exeter from another dance scene outside of the South West
We look forward to welcoming everyone to the dance floor, and creating an inclusive environment for all.
